COLLEGE DESCRIPTION:
Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is located in Charlottesville and serves the residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson.

SUPERLATIVES/RECENT ACCOLADES:
In January 2011, PVCC and the Advanced Technical Intelligence Center for Human Capital Development (ATIC) formed a partnership to provide education and training to the intelligence community in Central Virginia. ATIC assists PVCC with curriculum development, faculty selection and training. Among the classes offered is an Introduction to the Intelligence Community course and a 10-week “boot camp” for prospective intelligence analysts.

PVCC completed a full year of classes and labs in the new Kluge-Moses Science Building in 2010-11. Biology, chemistry, microbiology, biotechnology and anatomy and physiology classes were taught in the 34,000-square-foot building as well as those for PVCC’s nursing, emergency medical services, surgical technology, sonography, practical nursing and radiography programs. PVCC continues to respond to the needs of our community by partnering with local employers and business networks to provide workforce training for employment in occupations that are in high demand by Central Virginia businesses.
