COLLEGE DESCRIPTION:
Through its three locations - the Fauquier and Middletown Campuses and the Luray-Page County Center - Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) serves eight localities in the Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont regions. The localities are the counties of Clarke, Fauquier, Frederick, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah and Warren and the city of Winchester.

CURRENT INDUSTRY TRAINING PROGRAMS:
The Corron Community Development Center opened in July 2010 offering an additional 30,000 square foot of building space including a 500 seat multi-purpose room and several training rooms equipped for classroom and distance learning.  The Office of Workforce Solutions and the Small Business Development Center now have their offices and training rooms in this new building. The programs within the Office of Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education that help individuals to continue general education interests and update knowledge and skills include:

  • Apprenticeship course work
  • Business and industry educational partnerships
  • Command Spanish
  • Green certification training
  • Professional development vocational offerings
  • Small Business Development Center assistance
  • Work Keys profiles and assessments
  • Workshops, seminars, conferences and meeting

CURRENT INDUSTRIES SERVED:
Annually, the Office of Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education serves more than 7,500 individuals in professional development and business and industry courses. Recent accomplishments include:

  • Offering 614 open enrollment professional development classes, serving 4,015 students
  • Offering 203 customized training courses, serving 3,560 employees and 56 employers

College-Parallel Transfer Programs
LFCC offers eight associate of arts and sciences degrees that prepare students for transfer to four-year baccalaureate programs: Business Administration, Education, General Studies, Liberal Arts, and Science

Occupational-Technical Programs
LFCC offers multiple degrees and certificates in a variety of subject areas that prepare students for specific occupations. Students who complete one of the programs are prepared to enter the workplace or pursue additional education. The subject areas for the programs are: Administrative Support Technology, Business, Engineering, Construction and Industry, Fine Arts, Health Professions, and Information Systems Technology
